PersonalZoramthanga is an Indian insurgent-turned-politician and a member of the Mizo National Front (MNF). He was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Mizoram for the third time on 15 December 2018. Previously, he held the chief ministership of Mizoram for ten years, from 1998 to 2008. From 1966 to 1986, Zoramthanga was an insurgent and a close aide to Mizo separatist Laldenga, who launched the Mizo National Front uprising to demand a sovereign nation-state for the Mizo people.
