Some Lesser Known Facts

His father, a two-time Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, served in the Indian National Congress. He tragically passed away in a helicopter crash on 2 September 2009, deeply mourned by people across Andhra Pradesh.
Jaganmohan Reddy supported his father's campaign in Andhra Pradesh in 2004 and later joined the Congress party in 2009.
In 2009, he successfully contested and won the Lok Sabha Elections from the Kadapa Constituency.
After his father's passing, he embarked on an Odarpu Yatra (condolence tour) in February 2010 to meet grieving supporters and affected families.
Despite Congress leadership's objections, he continued the tour, displaying his determination and independence.
Following disagreements with the Congress leadership, on 29 November 2010, he resigned from the party.
In 2012, during a jail term, he protested against the formation of Telangana through a hunger strike, which led to health complications.
On 6 November 2017, he initiated a 3000 km long foot march called Praja Sankalpa Yatra, covering all 125 Assembly segments across Andhra Pradesh.
This march lasted 430 days, concluding on 9 January 2019, after an extensive journey through the state's 13 districts.
In the Assembly Elections of Andhra Pradesh on 23 May 2019, YSR Congress, led by Jaganmohan Reddy, emerged victorious, resulting in the resignation of his rival N. Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister.
