Tota Singh was a former Indian minister and senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
He served as the Minister for Agriculture & NRI Affairs in the Punjab Government under the Shiromani Akali Dal in 2012.
In 1969, Tota Singh became the party’s district president in Ferozepur district.
He was appointed as the Chairman of the Punjab Mandi Board in 1985 under Surjit Singh Barnala’s ministry.
Tota Singh was known as 'Jathedar' for his seniority in the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab.
He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from the Moga constituency in 1997.
In 2020, Tota Singh authored a book called 'Gatha Purkeyan di.'
When drug abuse was a concern in Punjab, he proposed that all politicians undergo a dope test.
