Sujata Kumar's smoking and alcohol habits are unknown.
She experienced child abuse and domestic violence at 20 years old.
At 30, she went through the loss of a stillborn child.
While not a professional singer, Sujata took Carnatic music singing lessons and was a Bharatnatyam dancer.
She was the sister of actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who was married to director Shekhar Kapur.
Her acting career began in 2004 with the role of Sandhya Khanna in the TV serial Bombay Talking.
Before acting, she worked at Life Coach – Boffins, Oberoi Towers, and the US Embassy in Muscat.
Sujata was the Chairman & Managing Director of Mumbai-based company Boffins Wit-q Games Private Limited.
She battled breast cancer for three years and had brief recovery periods in 2012 and 2013.
Sujata passed away in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai on 19 August 2018, disclosed by her sister on Twitter.
