Shiva Rajkumar is an Indian actor, film producer, and television presenter mainly known for his work in Kannada films and television shows. He starred as the lead in the Kannada movie Vedha (2022).
He is the eldest son of the renowned Kannada actor, Dr. Rajkumar, who received the Padma Bhushan in 1983 and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in 1995.
Shiva Rajkumar began acting at a young age and debuted in 1974 with a role in Sri Srinivasa Kalyana. He took a break and resumed his acting career in 1986 with the film Anand, produced by his mother.
Shiva Rajkumar married Geetha, the second daughter of former Karnataka chief minister Sarekoppa Bangarappa, in 1986.
During the late 1980s, he appeared in several popular Kannada films like Manamecchida Hudugi (1987), Shiva Mecchida Kannappa (1988), and Ade Raaga Ade Haadu (1989).
From 1990 to 2000, Shiva starred in over 50 Kannada films, including notable ones like Aralida Hoovugalu (1991) and Nammoora Mandara Hoove (1996).
In 2010, he acted in and as Sugreeva, directed by ten filmmakers in just 18 hours.
Shiva Rajkumar was the brand ambassador for Royal Challenges Bangalore in the 11th season of the Indian Premier League in 2011.
In 2012, Shiva Rajkumar's family organized a charitable program for people in need on his 50th birthday.
In 2016, Shiva Rajkumar experienced a minor heart attack during his workout but recovered after treatment by Dr. V.K. Srinivas.
Sadly, Shiva's younger brother, Puneeth Rajkumar, passed away from a heart attack in 2021.
