Seema Biswas was born in Guwahati, Assam, into a Bengali family and grew up in Nalbari town.
She has vivid memories of her childhood spent with siblings in a one-room rented house.
Seema's father, Jagdish Biswas, was a construction business owner who had a deep love for art and culture.
Her mother, Meera Biswas, was not only a history teacher but also a prominent female theatre artist in Assam.
Seema recalls being a solitary and moody child during her early years.
Her mother acted alongside her in the movie "Water" in 2005.
Seema first met Phoolan Devi in 1995, right after the premiere of "Bandit Queen."
In 2011, Seema made history by becoming the first female actor in India to play a transsexual character in the film "Queens! Destiny of Dance."
