Some Lesser Known Facts

Saud started playing cricket at the young age of 11.
His maternal uncle inspired him to pursue cricket and introduced him to coach Azam Khan.
Azam Khan initially referred him to other academies but later chose to coach him himself.
He grew up idolizing cricketer Michael Hussey.
During his early days at Pakistan Cricket Club, he received support from players like Sarfaraz Ahmed and Asad Shafiq.
Saud was a part of the Pakistan U-19 squad that was the runner-up in the U-19 World Cup 2014.
He made his first-class debut on 26 October 2015 in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
In November 2017, he was picked by Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League players’ draft.
Playing for the Pakistan Television cricket team was a significant moment in his career.
Saud was the top scorer in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for two consecutive seasons (2017-18, 2018-19).
He captained the Pakistan squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
Shakeel was nominated as one of the Domestic Cricketers of the Year at the 2020 PCB Awards.
Before his ODI debut, he was selected for the squad against South Africa but was ruled out due to an injury.
