On December 7, 2024, her 14-year-old son Sagar went missing from Bareilly, where he was with his maternal uncle Om Prakash. His body was discovered on December 8 near Adalakhia village.
In response to her son's tragic demise, Sapna traveled to Bareilly to hold a protest seeking justice. Two friends of her son were arrested, and a murder FIR was filed.
