Some Lesser Known Facts

Salman Fayyaz Ghani is a lieutenant general of the Pakistan Army and served as the 26th Corps Commander of the Lahore Corps (aka IV Corps).
After graduation, Ghani joined the Pakistan Military Academy's 79th Long Course as an officer candidate.
Ghani began his military career as a second lieutenant in the Pakistan Army's 10th Battalion of the Frontier Force Regiment (FFR) after completing rigorous training.
He progressed in ranks to hold positions such as Company Commander, Battalion Commander, and Brigade Commander with increasing experience and seniority.
Upon promotion to the rank of brigadier, Ghani was appointed to the School of Infantry and Tactics in Quetta, Balochistan.
In February 2017, Ghani became a major general and took command of the 23rd Infantry Division in Jhelum district, Punjab Province.
In November 2020, Ghani assumed the role of Inspector General (IG) (Arms) at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi after being promoted to lieutenant general.
During his tenure as the GOC of the Lahore Corps, violent protests erupted when protestors breached the gates of Lahore cantonment and ransacked the Corps Commander's house (Jinnah House) following his refusal to order firing on unarmed civilians.
A video circulated on Twitter showing Ghani attempting to deter protestors from attacking his home, which had expensive items like kitchen appliances, furniture, and showpieces stolen during demonstrations against Imran Khan's arrest.
