Some Lesser Known Facts

Maharaja Sajjan Singh was from the Rathore Dynasty and ruled the princely State of Ratlam, now a district in Madhya Pradesh.
He became the Ratlam throne successor at the age of 13 as his parents' only son.
In 1908, he was appointed Captain in the British Indian Army.
During 1914-1915, he served the Western front in World War I and received 11 to 13-gun salutes for his loyalty.
Post World War I, he ruled Rewa State from 1918 to 1922.
From 1915 to 1936, he served as aide-de-camp to General George V and Prince of Wales.
From 1936 to 1947, he was an honorary aide-de-camp to George VI.
He had a passion for Polo and held roles in Indian Polo Association and Army Polo Team Selection Committee.
He had five children with his fifth wife, Sodawala Maharani Shrimant Sodha Bai Sahiba, whom he married along with four others.
He served as Vice-President of Central India Rajput Hitkarini Sabha.
He received honors like Delhi Durbar Gold Medals (1903, 1911), Victory Medal (1918), and the Legion of Honour of France (1918), among others.
In 2018, the film "Sajjan Singh Rangroot" loosely based on his life, starred Diljit Dosanjh as Sajjan Singh.
