Sagar Rana was a former junior national wrestling champion from India. He achieved success in various body-building competitions.
He was born and raised in Haryana, India, before pursuing a career in wrestling.
Inspirited by wrestler Sushil Kumar, Sagar decided to embark on a professional wrestling journey.
He began his wrestling training at the tender age of 6 and was coached in pehlwani wrestling at the Akhada Chattrasal Stadium, Delhi.
Tragically, on 4 May 2021, Sagar Rana was fatally attacked by a group at the parking lot of Satapal Akhada Chattersal Stadium, Delhi.
Following the incident, Sushil Kumar, a two-time Olympic medalist, was implicated in the murder of Sagar Rana.
An FIR was filed against Sushil Kumar and four others on 5 May 2021 concerning Sagar Rana's murder. Sushil Kumar had been evading authorities since the FIR was lodged.
Subsequently, the Delhi Police issued a lookout warrant for Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar, offering a reward of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000, respectively, for any information leading to their apprehension.
