Rubina was born with a club foot condition that affected her balance.
She idolizes Gagan Narang, who inspired her to pursue shooting sports.
Her shooting journey began in 2006 during a camp organized by a shooting academy.
Rubina started her formal training in shooting in 2015 at Madhya Pradesh’s Shooting Academy.
Facing financial difficulties, her mother took on a nursing job to support her training.
In 2016, Rubina scored 386 at the nationals, leading to her World Cup selection.
She made a junior world record during her first international final in February 2017.
In 2017, Rubina joined the Gun For Glory Shooting Academy.
JP Nautiyal provided her with special shoes to help her balance while shooting.
She won her first international medal under Jaspal Rana's mentorship.
Rubina placed 7th in the P2 – 10m Air Pistol event at the 2020 Paralympics.
She secured her quota for the 2024 Paris Paralympics in July 2024, achieving a score of 211.1 at the finals.
