Some Lesser Known Facts

Robin Hibu is part of the Apatani tribe, a tribal Hindu group.
His family background was humble, and he had to sell firewood to support them.
Despite the lack of a school in his community, he was determined to learn, walking ten kilometers to attend school.
He traveled to Delhi for further studies without enough money for a train reservation, forcing him to sit on the floor.
Initially, he found it hard to secure accommodation and slept outside a warehouse before getting a room at JNU's Narmada Hostel.
Robin's father was in a coma for four days and came back to life briefly when Robin returned home.
He does not own a government house, car, or two-wheeler in New Delhi.
As the founder of Helping Hands, he donates a portion of his salary to support northeast people in distress.
He has held various important roles in the police department, including Special Commissioner of Police.
In 2017, he organized a significant event to honor supporters of the North East community.
He is supported by prominent figures like boxer Mary Kom for his NGO's initiatives.
His biography was published in 2021, titled ‘Cop With A Golden Heart Robin Hibu’.
Recently promoted to DGP rank in June 2024.
In his free time, he enjoys badminton and practices yoga regularly.
