Renu Devi, an Indian politician from Bihar, is one of the two Deputy CMs of Bihar and a four-time MLA from Bettiah.
She was born into a well-to-do family with her father working as a junior engineer in Bihar's Irrigation department.
Early in her childhood, Renu Devi was influenced by the RSS ideology through her family's association with the RSS.
Her mother and maternal grandfather were actively involved in the RSS, further shaping her beliefs.
She married a Kolkata-based insurance inspector at a young age but later returned to Bettiah after his passing in 1979.
In 1981, she began social activism to serve the community voluntarily.
By 1988, she became the coordinator of RSS-affiliated Durga Vahini before officially joining the BJP in 1989.
During the Ram Mandir construction movement in 1990, she was arrested.
In November 2020, she made history by becoming Bihar's first woman Deputy CM, succeeding former Deputy CM Sushil Modi.
