Rani Rana is an Indian wrestler from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. She won the Gold Medal in the 55 kg category at the National Women’s Wrestling Championship in 2019, becoming the first woman wrestler from Gwalior to achieve this.
When Rani was criticized for wrestling with boys in her village, her parents relocated to a city to support her wrestling training.
She received mat wrestling training at the Sports Authority of India in Indore.
Rani defeated male wrestler Vinod Prajapati with the Nelson Hold in a minute at a wrestling championship in her village.
Prior to this, she won against female wrestler Chitra Yadav.
In an interview, Rani expressed that challenging male opponents was not daunting for her, emphasizing gender equality in strength.
Despite family criticism, Rani continued to pursue her wrestling dreams and achieved success.
