ControversyIn 2008, the makers of the film Krazzy 4 (2008) copied the hook phrases of an advertisement of Sony Ericsson, which was composed by Sampath. A suit was filed in the Bombay High Court by Sampath and the court held that two songs including the title track were plagiarised. The court ordered a stay on the film's release. Later, the case was settled outside the court and Sampath received an amount of Rs. 2 million for it.

Ram Sampath, an Indian musician, music composer, and music producer, is known for being married to Indian singer Sona Mohapatra.
He was raised in a middle-class family in Chembur, Bombay.
Ram showed an interest in Carnatic music from a young age and studied it for around eight years during his childhood.
At the age of two, he received an LP player as a gift from his parents, which sparked his early musical curiosity.
Ram started composing music when he was just eight years old.
By age 12, he had already set his sights on becoming a music composer.
During his college days, Ram joined a rock band where he played the Keyboard.
At 16, he began frequenting music studios to explore music composition opportunities.
