Since her childhood, Rachana has been involved in cultural activities, particularly in mimicry and dance.
She has won various titles including ‘Balathilakam’ and ‘Kalathilakam’ at the Kerala State School Youth Festival from 1996 to 1998.
At 17, she worked as an assistant choreographer for her debut film Theerthadanam and later played a supporting role.
Following her role in Nizhalkuthu (2002), she focused on her studies and teaching before returning to acting.
While pursuing her postgraduate degree, she worked as a radio jockey first in Dubai and then in Thrissur for over three years.
She seamlessly balanced her educational pursuits with her work as a radio jockey.
