Some Lesser Known Facts

RK Mathur, a retired IAS officer, became the first Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on 31 October 2019.
He started his career as the District Collector of West Tripura and held various important positions in the Tripura Government.
In December 2003, Mathur was appointed as the Chief Secretary of Tripura by the Chief Minister.
Appointed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, he served as the Union Defence Production Secretary for two years from 1 October 2012.
On 18 December 2015, Mathur took charge as the Chief Information Commissioner of the CIC until his retirement on 24 November 2018.
Nominated by President Ram Nath Kovind on 25 October 2019, Mathur assumed office as Ladakh's first Lieutenant Governor on 31 October 2019.
