Pyarelal was the younger sibling in the duo known as the Wadali Brothers.
Their father was a respected figure at the Mazaar of Data Ganj Baksh Saheb in Lahore during the time before the Indo-Pak partition.
The Wadali Brothers rose to fame in 1972 after a breakthrough with All India Radio in Jalandhar.
Their music is primarily rooted in the Sufi genre.
They received musical training in Hindustani music from renowned teachers Pt. Durga Das and Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
Guru Ki Wadali, near Amritsar, is the hometown of the Wadali Brothers and the birthplace of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the 6th Guru of Sikhs.
In 1975, the Wadali Brothers faced a setback at the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan in Jalandhar due to their appearance but later succeeded in performing at the Harballabh temple in Jalandhar.
