Some Lesser Known Facts

Pushpendra Singh developed a strong interest in movies during his school days. He mentioned in an interview that his passion for filmmaking stemmed from his theater experience in Delhi. Before pursuing a career in filmmaking and acting, Pushpendra briefly worked as a professor at the FTII. In 2009, he played the roles of Jainath and a carpenter in the Hindi drama film Aadmi Ki Aurat Aur Anya Kahaniya. In 2011, Pushpendra acted as Imran alongside Freida Pinto in the film Trishna. For the 2014 film Lajwanti, he took on the roles of director, producer, actor, and screenplay writer. Pushpendra revealed that he crowdfunded a portion of the film's budget through public contributions. He appeared in the short film Chaita Ki Ek Dupahari, a Summer Afternoon, released in 2014. In the 2017 film Bioscopewala, Pushpendra portrayed a militant leader. That same year, he directed and wrote the script for the film Ashwatthama. In 2019, he both directed and wrote the script for the hybrid movie Maru Ro Moti. The film Laila Aur Satt Geet, released in 2020, was directed and scripted by Pushpendra. In 2023, he featured in the short film Nocturnal Burger. The film Ajmer 92, also released in 2023, was directed and scripted by Pushpendra Singh.
