Prithviraj belongs to the royal family of Pudukottai.
Prithviraj first held an Airgun rifle at the age of 5. He used to target bottles and cans and began shooting at proper ranges after a few years.
Prithviraj has represented Tamil Nadu in shooting at national level.
Prithviraj’s professional shooting journey began at 15. He got the inspiration for shooting from his father, a skeet shooter who was a member of the Indian Team in the 1990s.
Prithviraj once said that his shooting genes came from his royal family background. He used to go with his grandfather on hunting when it was not banned and from there he developed an interest in the shooting.
Prithviraj held the junior championship title for four consecutive years between 2003 to 2007.
Prithviraj participated in his first Shooting World Cup in 2011 in Tucson, Arizona, USA. He secured the ninth position in the tournament.
Prithviraj won his first individual medal in 2023 at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun in Doha, Qatar.
