  • In October 2007, Padmapriya made headlines when she registered a police complaint against director Samy, who allegedly slapped her on the sets of the movie- Mirugam.
  • Malayalam filmmaker M A Nishad, who directed Padmapriya in his film, No 66 Madhura Bus, once filed a complaint against her and her manager at Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber. In his generalized complaint, he stated that the managers charge an exorbitant commission from the actors, who in turn ask for higher fees from the filmmakers. He further asked for this 'manager culture' to be done away with.

Padmapriya Janakiraman is a versatile Indian entertainer active mainly in the South Indian film sector.
She has worked in nearly seven different film industries, including Bengali, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, English, and Telugu.
Padmapriya, a skilled Bharatnatyam performer, began training at the age of 3 under her mentor, Jayalakshmi Eshwar.
In her leisure time, she became interested in modeling and won the title of Miss Andhra Pradesh in 2001.
Before her acting career, she held various roles at ‘GE Capital International Services’ in fields like analysis, research, and project management.
In the movie ‘Chef’ (2017), Padmapriya wore her mother Vijaya's specially designed dance costume, as she mentioned in an interview.
While pursuing her MS in Public Administration at New York University, she faced harsh conditions when Hurricane Sandy hit, staying in the university shelter for four days.
