Some Lesser Known Facts

O Yeong-su's great-grandfather was a member of Goeul.
He was born in Kaepung County, Gyeonggi, under Japanese Korea's rule.
His family relocated to Paju-si, South Korea, after the Korean peninsula's division.
Sadly, his father lost his life to communist forces during the Korean War.
Following the war, his family resided in underground dwellings for some time.
In 1967, he joined the theater group Gwangjang and had his acting debut a year later.
Starting his theater career, he adopted the stage name 'O Young-su'.
During the late 1970s, he engaged in voice acting for educational broadcasts.
Joining the National Theater Company of Korea's Jayu theater group in 1987.
Notably, he played 'Oh Il-nam' in the popular Netflix series 'Squid Game' in 2021.
Interestingly, O Yeong-su struggles with acrophobia, a fear of heights.
