Some Lesser Known Facts

Nithya was inspired by her brother's cricket matches during childhood and initially showed interest in cricket.
Throughout her school years, she experienced discrimination related to her height.
Her passion for badminton ignited during the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro.
In addition to badminton, she briefly learned the classical dance form Bharatanatyam before focusing on her sporting career.
In 2018, she achieved a silver medal in a district championship while competing against able-bodied athletes, which motivated her to enhance her training.
By 2019, she shifted her focus exclusively to para-badminton, participating in various district and state-level competitions.
Since 2021, she has been competing in international para-badminton events.
After excelling in state competitions, she began training under Gaurav Khanna, the national coach, in Lucknow.
Nithya receives support from organizations such as Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), Sports Authority of India (SAI), and Yonex Sunrise India Open League.
