Narendra Chanchal was a renowned Indian religious singer recognized for his devotional songs.
He was born into a Punjabi religious family, deeply immersed in a devotional atmosphere.
From a young age, Narendra began singing Bhajans and Aartis in Jagrans.
He received music training from his mentor Prem Tikha in Amritsar.
Although he had a penchant for fine clothing in childhood, he could not afford it.
On April 13, 1972, Chanchal participated in the popular Punjabi Annual Festival of Bombay, where he sang Kafian of Bulle Shah.
His first singing opportunity arrived in 1973 with the song ‘Beshak Mandir Masjid Todo’ from the movie “Bobby.”
Narendra achieved great fame through songs like 'Tu Ne Mujhe Bulaya' from 'Aasha' (1980) and “Chalo Bulawa Aaya Hain Mata Ne Bulaya Hain” from 'Avtaar' (1983).
He was granted honorary citizenship by the US state of Georgia.
In 2009, he published his autobiography 'The Midnight Singer,' detailing his life journey from struggles to success.
Every year on December 29, Chanchal visited Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and performed there on December 31.
