Some Lesser Known Facts

Monu Goyat is a renowned Kabaddi player from India, having played for teams like Bengal Warriors and Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League, as well as representing India internationally.
His kabaddi journey began at the age of 10 in his village, mentored by his uncle Vijender Singh, who was unable to participate in the 1990 Beijing Games due to a knee injury.
In 2011, Monu joined the Indian Army, competing in various kabaddi matches for the army under Coach Jasvir Singh's guidance but had to delay his entry into the Pro Kabaddi League for the first three seasons due to army commitments.
Making his Pro Kabaddi League debut in 2016 with Bengal Warriors, he earned 59 raid points and 4 tackle points in 13 matches, placing him as one of the top 15 raiders that year.
Monu went on to play for Patna Pirates, achieving an impressive 191 raid points in one season before being signed by Haryana Steelers for a record-breaking fee of 1.51 Crore rupees, becoming the league's highest-paid player in history and the top-earning non-cricket athlete of the year.
Subsequently, he played for U.P Yodha, returned to Patna Pirates, and then joined Telugu Titans. Monu is also recognized as the fourth-best raider in the league’s 5th season.
Off the field, Monu is a dog lover and owns a Husky as a pet, and is passionate about fitness, often engaging in gym workouts, yoga sessions, and swimming.
Renowned for his 'running hand touch' move in kabaddi, Monu is known for swiftly tagging opponents and retreating to safety with finesse.
