Some Lesser Known Facts

Milkha Singh was unsure of his birthdate but estimated he was around 14-15 years old during India's Partition.
Three days before the tragic events, Milkha went to Multan seeking help from his eldest brother, Makhan Singh.
Upon returning with his brother, Milkha found his village turned into a cremation ground by rioters.
To sustain himself, Milkha often visited army camps for work and sometimes polished shoes for food.
Due to job scarcity and floods, Milkha and his sister-in-law relocated to Delhi.
Feeling overwhelmed, Milkha found living at his sister-in-law's house burdensome.
Makhan Singh later got posted at the Red Fort in India.
In 2008, Rohit Brijnath hailed Milkha as the finest athlete ever produced by India.
