Mahant Balaknath is the eighth successor of the Nath sect in Hinduism.
His father was a follower of Mahant Khetanath and served him at the Baba Khetanath Ashram in Neemrana.
Before Mahant Balaknath's birth, his father promised Mahant Khetanath that his son would serve him for life, and he was named Gurmukh by Mahant Khetanath upon birth.
At the age of six, Mahant Balaknath took sanyas and was sent to Mahant Khetanath Ashram in Neemrana for six months by his family.
Later, he was sent to Alwar MP Mahant Chand Nath Yogi at Asthal Bohar Rohtak, where he was named Balaknath due to his playful nature.
At Asthal Bohar Rohtak, Mahant Balaknath performed penance, served the monastery, learned Nath sect traditions, and served in ashrams across the country.
In a religious ceremony on 29 July 2016, Mahant Balaknath was declared the eighth heir to Asthal Bohar in the presence of several renowned saints.
After the passing of Mahant Chandnath in 2017, Mahant Balaknath succeeded him as the head of Asthal Bohar and was appointed the chancellor of Baba Mastnath University.
In 2019, Mahant Balaknath started his political journey by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, winning Lok Sabha elections and later becoming an MLA in Rajasthan.
