Some Lesser Known Facts

Leena Chandavarkar, a former Indian actress, is known as the fourth wife of the famous Indian singer Kishore Kumar.
In 1965, Leena rose to prominence as a runner-up in Filmfare's Fresh Face competition at the age of 15, with Rajesh Khanna and Farida Jalal as winners.
Her debut film, "Man Ka Meet," starred her alongside Sunil Dutt's brother, Som Dutt, and marked Vinod Khanna's first movie.
Originally from Karnataka, Leena received Hindi lessons from Nargis during her first film, who also mentored her in non-classical dance and driving.
Despite her success, Leena's conservative values led her to decline offers for bikini shots in films.
Her hit song "Dhal Gaya Din Ho Gayi Shaam" from the 1970 movie "Humjoli" established her as a household name, starring opposite Jeetendra.
Leena acted as a lead actress alongside Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, and Dilip Kumar in various films.
She first met Kishore Kumar on the set of the 1973 film "Manchali."
Her first husband, Siddharth Bandodkar, passed away in 1976 shortly after their marriage due to a fatal gunshot while cleaning his revolver.
Leena married Kishore Kumar in 1980 and had a son, Sumeet Kumar, with him before his death in 1987.
Following Kishore Kumar's passing, Leena, who never remarried, contributes lyrics to her son Sumeet Kumar's music albums.
Today, Leena resides with her son Sumeet, stepson Amit Kumar, his family, and Ruma Guha Thakurta (Kishore Kumar's first wife).
