His play, Item, won an award for Best Play at the 13th Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META). Kshitish Date also won the Best Actor Award in Lead Role (Male) at the 13th META Awards for play Item.
Note	Another play Nona for also won the Best Play Award. This was the first time in the history of Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards that two plays received the award for Best Play, altogether.

Kshitish Date is an actor, director, and writer known for his work in Marathi films.
He dreamt of being an actor from a young age and started his career in theatre, working for about 8 years with various theaters.
In 2017, he acted in the play "Adhure" written and directed by Swanand Barve, starring alongside Anuradha Athlkekar.
In 2015, Date appeared in the short film "And Buddha Smiled," providing his voice for an office peon character.
He directed a Hindi play called "Item" in 2017, produced by the Natak Company.
