Kotha Prabhakar Reddy is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
He won the Medak Lok Sabha seat in Telangana in 2014 by-elections and was re-elected in 2019.
His daughter, K. Keerthi Reddy, was featured in the prestigious Forbes India 30 under 30 list in 2021.
After his education, Reddy joined the family business Soni Transportations, a Hyderabad-based logistics company with many buses and trucks.
He actively participated in the Telangana Statehood movement.
In 2014, he entered politics with the TRS, winning the Medak seat in a by-election.
In 2023, while campaigning for the Dubbak assembly constituency in Surampalli village, he was attacked and stabbed in the stomach by Gatani Raju, an individual reportedly associated with Jai Congress Mirdoddi Mandal.
Raju was apprehended by local BRS members, faced arrest, and was charged with attempted murder.
Prabhakar underwent a lengthy surgery at Yashoda Hospitals in Secunderabad after the attack.
