Keshav hails from a family of cricketers originating from Sultanpore, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He began his cricket journey at the mere age of 2, under the guidance of his father, Athmanand, who was a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Natal province.
Initially a left-arm seam bowler, Keshav transitioned to spin bowling on his father's suggestion.
The WACA, Perth, saw Keshav make his Test debut against Australia.
His romantic journey with Lerisha Munsamy started in 2018, leading up to their engagement in 2019 and marriage in 2022.
Representing South Africa, he participated in the T20I World Cups of 2021 and 2022.
In September 2021, Keshav was appointed the ODI captain during the series against Sri Lanka, later becoming South Africa's ODI World Cup vice-captain in 2023.
