In January 2024, he faced criticism for inappropriate behavior towards female INC workers at a New Year's celebration in Telangana.
After completing his post-graduation, Satyanarayana worked as a doctor in Andhra Pradesh before practicing in Telangana after its separation.
He served as a general surgeon at the Guru Nanak Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Hyderabad.
In Hyderabad, Kavvampally Satyanarayana and Anuradha co-founded Ankith Multi Speciality Hospital.
Specializing in laparoscopy and endoscopy, he is known for his expertise in these fields.
Apart from his medical career, he was also an assistant professor of surgery in Andhra Pradesh.
He lost in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh state elections to an INC candidate named Arepalli Mohan.
