Some Lesser Known Facts

K. Sivasankar was an Indian choreographer and actor known for his work in South Indian films.
During his childhood, he survived a major accident at the age of 8, with care from his aunts around the clock.
He developed an interest in dancing at drama and dance festivals, learning from renowned dancers Natraj & Sakunthala in Mylapore; later, he became an assistant dance master under Saleem in 1974.
Sivasankar showcased his choreography skills in films like ‘Kavikkuyil’ (1977) and acted in movies like ‘Varalaru’ (2006) and ‘Paradesi’ (2013).
He also appeared in TV serials such as ‘Jothi’ (2021; Tamil) and ‘No.1 Kodalu’ (2021; Telugu).
In 2021, he contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, where due to financial constraints, his family sought help from the film industry to cover his medical expenses.
Celebrities like Dhanush, Chiranjeevi, and Sonu Sood contributed to his treatment costs; unfortunately, K. Sivasankar passed away on 28 November 2021.
Sonu Sood expressed his sorrow on Twitter, writing, "Heartbroken to hear about the demise of Shiv Shankar masterji. Tried our best to save him but God had different plans. Will always miss you masterji. May almighty give strength to the family to bear this loss. Cinema will always miss u sir."
