Some Lesser Known Facts

Jitendra Narain, the former chief secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration, faced arrest in 2022 on gang rape charges.
His name may also be spelled as Jitendra Narayan.
He assumed the role of Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration on 3 March 2021.
During his tenure, allegations surfaced of him inviting twenty women to his residence in Port Blair.
A complaint against Narain detailed incidents where he allegedly called a girl to a hotel room, raped her, and subjected her to two weeks of torment, warning her not to disclose the events. Subsequent investigations led to charges of similar crimes involving 20 other women recruited under the pretense of government job opportunities. Consequently, the Union Home Ministry relieved him of all responsibilities.
Despite being granted interim bail until 14 November 2022 by the Kolkata High Court, his bail was revoked, leading to his arrest. A statement issued by the home ministry declared disciplinary proceedings against Narain, citing potential grave misconduct and suspected misuse of his official position.
Narain's name was mentioned in the PSU WATCH FAME ASIA INDIA MAGAZINE for being among the top 50 bureaucratic individuals across 20 batches.
Effective 1 October 2022, Narain was assigned as the chairman and managing director of the Delhi Financial Corporation.
