Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a Canadian Sikh extremist and the leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF).
Nijjar moved to Canada in 1996 with his family, working as a plumber.
He became involved in terrorism after his association with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Nijjar was involved in the 2010 bombing of the Satyanarayan Mandir in Patiala.
In 2012, he presented a petition to the UNGA calling for an inquiry into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Nijjar visited Pakistan in 2013-14 to meet the KTF commander Jagtar Singh Tara.
He reportedly masterminded the assassination of Baba Bhaniara in 2014.
He organized a training camp in 2015 and trained gangster Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal.
The Indian government sought his extradition back to India in 2015.
A Red Corner Notice was issued against Nijjar by the NIA in 2016.
He was arrested in April 2018 but released due to lack of evidence.
Nijjar became president of a Gurdwara in Surrey, Canada.
