Hanuman Beniwal's father, Ramdev Chaudhary, served as a three-time MLA from Mundwa (Nagaur) Assembly in Rajasthan.
He became the President of Rajasthan College in 1994 and 1995, followed by being elected as the President of Rajasthan Law College in 1996 and Rajasthan University in 1997.
In 2003, Beniwal ran as an independent candidate in the assembly elections for the Mundwa constituency in Rajasthan but lost by 2,000 votes.
He led a protest after becoming the President of Rajasthan University to secure an additional 5% marks for rural students aiming to attend school.
Beniwal, a farming leader in Nagaur, contested and won the 2008 assembly elections from the Khinvsar constituency on the BJP ticket.
In 2011, Beniwal was suspended from the BJP after accusing Vasundhara Raje and Rajendra Rathore of corruption in Rajasthan.
Following his suspension, he organized five 'Kisan Hunkar Maha Rallies' and won the 2013 assembly elections as an Independent candidate.
In 2015, NSUI protested at Rajasthan University over the treatment of students who were demonstrating against an attack on Beniwal.
He founded the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) in 2018, winning the Khinvsar MLA seat that year and becoming an MP in 2019 from Nagaur.
