Some Lesser Known Facts

Gulshan came from a modest Punjabi family background with his father working as a juice seller in Daryaganj, Delhi.
Kumar assisted his father in the family business when he was younger.
His business ventures included manufacturing audio cassettes, agarbattis, bottled water, detergents, and ceiling fans.
Success in the audio cassettes business led him to start his own label, initially known as 'Super Cassettes Industries Ltd,' later renamed 'T-Series.'
Although T-Series began in Delhi, Kumar later moved the company to Mumbai.
He played a significant role in launching the careers of Nadeem-Shravan, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal, and Sonu Nigam in Bollywood.
In 1985, T-Series released its first Bollywood film soundtrack for 'Lallu Ram.'
Known for his devotion, he appeared in various devotional song videos.
Tragically, on 12 August 1997, he was fatally shot outside the Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandir in Andheri, Mumbai.
Following his death, his son Bhushan Kumar assumed control of T-Series at the age of 19.
