Glenn Phillips is a notable New Zealand cricketer, particularly acclaimed for his T20 performances. He represents New Zealand in all formats and is recognized for his strong hitting skills and exceptional fielding abilities.
At the age of five, Phillips relocated with his family from South Africa to New Zealand, where he began participating in various sports like hockey, rugby, and cricket.
Phillips progressed through the age group teams at his school, from the Under-9 level to the Under-17 team before deciding to pursue a professional cricket career.
He made his List A cricket debut on 24 January 2015 for Auckland against Central Districts in the Ford Trophy Tournament.
In the 2016 Under-19 ICC World Cup, Phillips played for New Zealand and was joined by his brother in the team.
During a match at Arundel ground, West Sussex, in 2016, he scored 201 runs in 123 balls, hitting six sixes in an over, an unprecedented feat at the ground's 100+ year history.
On 4 December 2016, he played his first T20 match for Auckland against Otago in the Super Smash Tournament and scored 55 runs in 32 balls.
