She spent her early years in Shahabad near Gulbarga in Karnataka before relocating to Bangalore.
A dedicated student, she achieved a remarkable 94% in her board exams and aspired to pursue a career in medical science.
Balancing academics with modeling, she began her modeling career during college.
In 1997, she won the titles of Miss Tamil Nadu and Miss South India in 1998.
She reached the final fourth round of Femina Miss India 2000 after being selected from 8000 contestants.
