She spent her childhood in New Delhi, India.
Her father, Surajvir Sain, initially pursued wrestling in Delhi but later switched to selling langots with his wife, who sewed them for wrestlers.
Introduced to wrestling by her father, Divya practiced the sport from a young age.
At eight years old, she displayed talent by defeating a boy in a wrestling match.
During challenging financial times, Divya competed after consuming a Rs. 15 packet of Glucose.
