Dane had an early passion for both rugby and cricket but chose cricket as his professional path.
He was honored with the 18th Altiorum in 2016 for being selected as a Proteas cricketer.
In 2017, he was acquired by the Bloem City Blazers for South Africa's inaugural T20 Global League, which was unfortunately cancelled.
During the 2018 Mzansi Super League T20 tournament, he emerged as the top wicket-taker for Paarl Rocks, claiming 10 wickets in 11 matches.
After signing with Nottinghamshire in March 2021, he had an impressive debut season with 51 wickets.
In 2022, he achieved 75 wickets across all formats in the English domestic circuit, significantly aiding Nottinghamshire’s Division Two victory.
Dane celebrated achieving his 500th first-class wicket in April 2023 while playing for Nottinghamshire.
