Chirag Shetty is an Indian professional badminton player known for mixed team & Men’s doubles events.
He started playing badminton at 7 and trained at Goregaon Sports Club under Manish Hadkar.
Chirag decided to pursue badminton professionally after 10th grade and trained under Pullela Gopichand in Hyderabad.
His debut was in the Sushant Chipalkatti Memorial India Junior International Badminton Championship in 2013.
Chirag achieved his first international gold with M.R. Arjun in the Swiss Junior Open 2014 Men’s Doubles.
In 2018, he won gold at the Commonwealth Games and in 2019, claimed the French Open title.
He received the Arjuna Award in 2020 and the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in 2023.
Chirag uses the Voltric 80 E-tune badminton racket for most tournaments.
He enjoys adventure sports and actively participates in them.
