Champat Rai is the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in 2024.
He is the Vice President of Vishva Hindu Parishad.
Rai has a long-standing interest in the ideologies of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and actively worked for the organization.
He dedicates himself to spreading RSS ideas and has been a promoter for the group.
Rai served as a Physics professor at RSM Degree College, Dhampur, Bijnor.
During the 1975 Emergency, he was arrested for his RSS connections and spent 18 months in jail.
After his release, he left his government job as a lecturer to join Vishva Hindu Parishad.
He played a significant role in the movement for the Ram Temple and influenced youth in the Awadh region.
