Carolina Marín does not smoke.
She is the first Spanish badminton player to win either a silver or a gold medal in international games.
After exiting the 2012 London Olympic Games in the group stage, Marín got a tattoo of the Olympic rings on her left wrist as a reminder of the defeat and a motivation for the next Olympics.
Carolina Marín played for the Bangalore team, Banga Beats, in the first season of the Indian Badminton League (IBL) in 2013.
In August 2014, she defeated Li Xuerui from China in the BWF World Championships singles final, becoming the first Spaniard to win a World Championship title and the third European female player to achieve the gold medal.
