Some Lesser Known Facts

Bhagat Singh's ancestral home is situated in Khatkar Kalan, Nawanshahr district, Punjab.
He was born on the day his father and uncle were released from jail.
Bhagat Singh carried a bottle of mud with bloodstains from the Jallianwala Bagh massacre wherever he went.
Initially inspired by Kartar Singh Sarabha and a follower of Mahatma Gandhi, he later joined revolutionary activities.
He organized revolutionary groups and played a key role in important events during the freedom movement.
Having carried out attacks on British officials, he was sentenced to death in the Lahore Conspiracy Case.
Bhagat Singh went on a hunger strike protesting against the prison authorities until his father pleaded with him to stop.
His writings and personal belongings are carefully preserved in archives.
He was executed on 23rd March 1931 alongside Rajguru and Sukhdev.
During his time in prison, Bhagat Singh became an atheist.
