Babita is a highly accomplished female wrestler in India.
She excels in the 53-55kg weight category and has achieved remarkable success internationally.
Together with her sister Geeta Phogat and cousin Vinesh Phogat, Babita has played a key role in challenging traditional views towards girls in Haryana.
Her father is the renowned Indian wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.
The character of Babita was portrayed by Sanya Malhotra in the movie Dangal.
She has won a Silver medal at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and a Gold at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Babita qualified for the Rio Olympics in 2016.
