  • He was named the BCCI Under-19 cricketer of the year for the 2012-13 domestic season.
  • Took a hat-trick for Kings XI Punjab against Gujarat Lions in IPL 9 (2016) by dismissing Dinesh Karthik, Dwayne Bravo, and Ravindra Jadeja.

Some Lesser Known Facts

Axar originally preferred to pursue a career as a mechanical engineer instead of becoming a cricketer.
At 15 years old, his friend Dhiren noticed Axar's cricketing abilities and encouraged him to participate in an inter-school tournament.
His name was misspelled as "Axar" in his school leaving certificate due to a mistake by the principal, and he has used this spelling ever since.
To improve his strength for cricket, Axar's father enrolled him in a gym at the start of his cricketing journey.
Initially a batsman, Axar transitioned to bowling to enhance his chances of representing India in cricket.
In 2010, a leg injury from an accident at home forced Axar to miss the Gujarat U-19 season, but his grandmother's encouragement motivated him to resume playing.
During the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season, Axar excelled for Gujarat, scoring 369 runs and taking 29 wickets in 7 matches.
In 2014, he was recognized as the "BCCI Under-19 Cricketer of the Year."
Although he didn't play in his first IPL season, Axar achieved success with Kings XI Punjab in his debut IPL season (2014).
He was honored as the "Emerging Player of the Tournament" in IPL7.
Due to an injury during the 2023 Asia Cup, Axar Patel was replaced by Ravichandran Ashwin in the Indian squad for the 2023 ICC Men’s World Cup.
