Atharva Taide is an Indian cricketer known for retiring out in the 15th over of an IPL match against Delhi Capitals after scoring 55 runs on 42 balls, becoming the second cricketer to do so in IPL history.
He developed a love for cricket from a young age.
His father recollected that Atharva's favorite toy was a plastic ball and bat.
Seeing Atharva's dedication, his father set up facilities for him to practice cricket at home, including a box net, a bowling machine, and floodlights.
Atharva practiced at Akola Cricket Club Ground, changed there for school, then returned for practice in the afternoon and sometimes practiced till late at night with his father.
He later joined Vengsarkar Cricket Academy to improve his game further.
Atharva debuted in First-Class matches for Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy in December 2018.
He was part of India's team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
In List A matches, he debuted for Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in September 2018.
Atharva was selected for the Indian U-19 team based on his performance in the U-19 tournaments.
In the 2018 Cooch Vihar Trophy final, he scored 320 runs for Vidarbha, similar to Yuvraj Singh's achievement.
He won the Irani Trophy for Vidarbha in 2018 and the U23 Col. CK. Nayudu Trophy in 2019/20.
