Political Journey | - Joined Samajwadi Janata Party (Rashtriya) (SJP(R)) in 1990s, also known as Janata Dal (Socialist)
- Elected as MLA in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 1999 from Dhule City constituency with 2,37,423 votes
- Fielded his wife, Hema Anil Gote, in the 2004 legislative elections, but she lost
- Founded his own political party called Loksangram (LKSGM) in November 2008
- Won the 2009 legislative elections on LKSGM ticket, becoming MLA from Dhule City with 2,69,624 votes
- Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the 2014 legislative elections, winning as an MLA with 2,86,197 votes
- Contested the Lok Sabha elections twice, first in 2009 and then again in 2019, as an LKSGM (Loksangram) party candidate; however, lost both elections
- Left the BJP before the 2019 legislative elections, contested on LKSGM ticket with a whistle symbol, but lost
- Joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on 12 December 2019
